Our members meet on a bi-weekly basis to discuss our agenda and understand the needs of our diverse student population. We welcome student leaders to fill out our application if they are passionate about making post-secondary education more affordable for all students. Advocacy work is a constant process that requires drive and determination. we thrive to make decisions that will impact post-secondary education for years to come.

Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Committee

We recognize that the NBSA is an organization rooted in colonial practices through our structure and we are committed to ensuring that our work is conducted through an equity, diversity and inclusion intersectional praxis to ensure that a safe place is created for all of our members while we navigate decolonizing our organization and the postsecondary education system through ongoing collaboration and consultation with students and community members.

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion is a cornerstone of the NBSA as we advocate for an increasingly vibrant student community. Our mission is to ensure that all students are effectively represented, both outside and within our organization, ensuring equitable practices, policies, opportunities, and education.

Health & Wellness Committee

The Health and Wellness committee focuses on how actions can be taken provincially to reduce health and wellness-related obstacles to obtaining a degree in New Brunswick. The committee will be working on policies for e-mental health and other services before advocacy week in November, and putting together a "wellness and health living campaign" in early December, but is open to other ideas for first and second semester! If you are passionate about mental health and student wellness, this committee is for you.

Sustainability Committee

The NBSA strongly believes that sustainability within our campuses is critical to the postsecondary experience. This year the sustainability committee has set the following priorities: recycling, food security, affordable housing, and the impact our campuses have on the climate. We plan on bringing awareness and provincial policy changes to these areas of interest through the creation of NBSA policy & advocacy documents, surveys, and campaigns. This committee meets on a biweekly or monthly basis depending on our goals & workload.
